Gameday Joy Turned Into Concern

I had some buddies over to watch some football the last Sunday, and it was more of an event than a hangout. Everyone brought their wives and a dish, I had the beverages set up, and there were about 20 people there by kickoff. We all get along well and except for a few people who just came for social reasons, we were glued to the TV reacting to every missed catch or big hit. Our team prides itself on defense, so every time there was a sack or a bone-jarring hit we’d jump out of our seats and high fives were never in shortage. We kicked a field goal late in the second quarter to extend our lead to 10, so we were all in good spirits and loving life. On the ensuing kickoff, the other team fielded the ball at the 20 yard line and the guy had a lane to run. He was at full speed running down the side line, and out of nowhere one of our guys just tattooed him out of bounds. We all screamed in excitement and were amped up because of the hit, but the other player had yet to get up. Most players stay on the ground to collect their balance, but he was lying there motionless. The game came to a halt and paramedics were rushed to the sidelines to assess his injuries. Our joy quickly turned to concern, because these are professional athletes hitting each other at full force here, and there have been cases of people being paralyzed. We all started talking about the guy from the Jets who did get paralyzed, and then the topic of life insurance came up. The NFL has a Players Union, and luckily his family was taken care of, but what would happen to normal guys like us if we were injured like that in a car accident? There are many underlying details to life insurance, and doing your own research is the only way to be certain you’re family will be taken care of. Fortunately the player was taken away in a stretcher for only precautionary reasons, and as he gave the crowd a “thumbs up” on his way off the field, they gave him a thunderous cheer and we all breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Back On The Dating Scene

I am recently divorced and haven’t been in the dating scene for a long time. My ex-husband and I first started dating when we were 19, and after 15 years of staying loyal to him I found he wasn’t doing the same so I now find myself out with my girlfriends and on the lookout. Having one man in your life made me feel beautiful, but now I find myself pointing out little things about myself that I’m starting to become self-conscious about. I have changed my diet and have a personal trainer who works me hard (believe me!), so I feel confident about my body. I’ve been told I’m pretty my whole life, but just recently I noticed some fine lines around my eyes. I love the outdoors and I’m in the sun as much as possible, but I always use protection so I didn’t think it could be from that. I asked some of my girlfriends about it, and they said I look fine, but now that I’m dating again I want to feel as beautiful as possible. I surfed the web for some help, and right away I came across a laser skin treatment website and found exactly what I was looking for. After I filled out the quick and easy form at the top I was directed to a number of options, and after I choose to deal with my wrinkles I set up an appointment. Six sessions later I can barely notice any fine lines and no longer have to hide anything with excess makeup! Now when I see a younger guy I don’t have to feel nervous if he approaches me, because I look and feel as amazing as ever!
